Shirt/Club Monaco, Shorts/Target, Shoes/DIY

Sorry it's been so so long since I've last posted a look!

The neon-soled oxfords are inspired by Jil Sander and are honestly one of the easiest DIYs out there--just paint the soles of some oxfords your favorite neon color. I suggest using leather paint, as I used acrylic, but they're now starting to chip D:

I'm now off on spring break for a week and leave for a trip tomorrow at 4:30 a.m. (yay!).

New from Club Monaco and Zara

After two stressful weeks filled with homework and tests I didn't do as well as I should have on, I went shopping. I still had a fair amount of money piled up from the holidays and my birthday (which was several months ago, actually, haha~) so I decided to splurge on this wonderful shirt (!!!)

It's a white, 100% silk button-up (or button-down--I suppose it varies from person to person) from Club Monaco. I had seen it a few weeks before and kept thinking about, so I decided if I saw it again I would buy it. Surprisingly enough, my size was still in stock. I am love the details of the pocket and how the button are covered by a flap of fabric. And for silk, $120 isn't too bad. :D
From Zara I just bought some basic black leggings. I realized I didn't own a single pair and that I might as well. Taking a picture of bottoms when you don't have any hangers suitable for the job is not exactly easy, and they are really just leggings so I'm not sure it would be worth it.

Sorry for my unexpected hiatus, but school should be slowing down for a little bit and I hope to get back to updating and posting looks as usual.

Top/Zara, Shorts/Target, Bag/DIY, Shoes/Hermès

This will be a quick post as I should have gone to sleep hours ago (I have piles of homework to look forward to tomorrow!).

The bag is a DIY version of this clear Hermès Kelly bag. It's not exactly of superior workmanship because it is one of my first sewing-adventures (: I may, however, post a DIY tutorial later anyway.

NOW the shoes....They are beautiful, I am in love with them. Oh, and they were bought by me for a NINTH of the original price. This is the workings of my favorite elderly ladies in the world. One of the aforementioned ladies runs a resale boutique that sells beautiful designes things for insanely low prices. ALL of the shoes she receives to sell in a size 6 come from one elderly lady with an insanely high budget and a shopping addiction that buys beautiful shoes, wears them three or four times and then gives them to the lady who runs the boutique to sell them for insanely low prices (compared to the original, anyway). I will most likely post pictures of the shoes individually (along with a pair of Chloé boots from the same store eep) when I am not supposed to be getting eight hours of sleep--five will have to do (:

$125 well spent, my friends.

But anyway, Hermès and Target? I am dying.

Celebrating the season with a John Lennon shirt.

I WOULD FIRST like to start off and say happy holidays, as Christmas is tomorrow and Chanukah is currently going on. I will be celebrating my family's own unique, secular brand of Christmas tomorrow, so I may not post anything.

However, I would also like to say that the holidays are not such a happy time for everybody. They cause stress, and sometimes reopen the wounds of losing people you cared for. They also remind us of those who cannot even afford to feed, clothe, or house themselves or their family. There are thousands--millions, actually-- of people who are in dire straits in terms of their financial situation, and we can help.

This holiday season please donate something, anything to help these people. One life is no more important than another. It does not matter if your contribution is 5 cents or $500,000. It sounds cheesy, I know, but we really can make a difference if we all pitch in.

Cashmere Sweater/Unknown, Jeans/DIY, Clutch/Vintage, Shoes/Michael by Michael Kors

Alright, so I spray painted some jeans silver. I'm happy with how they turned out, but my biggest fear is what they'll look like once they've been washed. I would have taken pictures of the process, but I'm bad at this blogging thing so I'm afraid that didn't happen :s

So glad to be on winter break! :D

Shirt/Hobby Lobby, Jeans/Cheap Monday, Silver Cuff/Unknown

Hobby Lobby couture. I'm planning to DIY the shirt, I'm somwhere between another War is Over! shirt, or an Apple logo shirt (provided I can find silver fabric paint. Usually my pictures are taken outside against that beautiful brick wall, but some sort of fence it being put up outside and thus, the pictures are taken in my room, which is currently being re-done because I have had the same furniture for 13 years. I'm going mattress-shopping today followed by exams this coming week. Can't wait.

Blazer/ Audrey3+1, Shirt/Urban Outfitters, Shoes/H&M

This grey tweed blazer I bought last weekend at a boutique near where I live, but the brand is Audrey3+1, which I believe can be found online through Modcloth and possibly through other online boutiques. The sandal-wedges are from H&M and originally were white, but I later decided they did not go with many outfits with the white color, and so decided to paint them black. Sandals may seem like an interesting choice for the second of December, but it was actually quite warm, and I was so badly trying to avoid the black skinny jeans and chelsea boots combination again (but that doesn't mean I don't wear that combination to school everyday.....).

Another weekend I will spend doing homework. Uggh.....Two more weeks of school...one of exams...then winter break. So close :0

Chelsea Boots

Even though they seem to be a trend right now, chelsea boots (also jod boots or Beatle boots if you prefer)are a classic style. I wanted some so badly, and I decided to go with these completely flat patent leather ones from Zara. Well worth the price and they're just lovely <3
(They don't look so amazing in the photo, but I'm not exactly experienced in shoe photography, particularly patent leather seems to be hard to photograph.)

I took an unexpected hiatus due to unmanageable amounts of schoolwork, but I should be back now (at least for this post ;D). For those of you who may know me through Lookbook or Tumblr, I'm attempting to start and continue posting on a blog, but I'm not entirely sure how possible that will be, considering I haven't posted on Lookbook for a month and don't post on Tumblr particularly often, but we'll see :/
